Setting up the Modem Control Panel
- Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu
- Open the Modem control Panel
- In the "Connect via" pop-up menu, choose the port to which your
modem is connected
- In the Modem pop-up menu, chose the modem you are using
- Click the settings you want(On or OFF for the modem speaker; Tone or
Pulse for dialing)

Setting up the TCP/IP Control Panel
- Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu
- Open the TCP/IP control Panel
- Under the Edit Menu select User Mode...
- Click the Administration button
- Click OK

- You should see a TCP/IP dialog box with closed locks. Click on all
of them to open them
- Select from the drop down menus or fill in the edit boxes to match
the example to the right
- Click on the locks to close them
- Under the File Menu select Close
- Click on the Save button

Configuring and Opening the PPP Connection
Configuring for the First Time
- Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu
- Open the PPP control Panel
- Enter your dial-up Name
- Enter your dial-up Password
- Enter the phone number
Opening the PPP Connection
- Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu
- Open the PPP control Panel
- Click on the Connect button
